Description

NI ELVISmx 4.0 is the driver software that supports the National Instruments Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite II (NI ELVIS II). NI ELVIS II uses LabVIEW-based software instruments and a custom-designed benchtop workstation and prototyping board to provide the functionality of a suite of common laboratory instruments.

NI ELVISmx 4.0 contains the NI ELVISmx Instrument Launcher, LabVIEW Express VIs and SignalExpress steps for programming the NI ELVIS II hardware. For more information on NI ELVIS II features and benefits, click here. For more information on what is new in NI ELVIS 4.0, refer to the readme file.

NI ELVISmx 4.0 installs NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 by default. If you do not want to install NI-DAQmx 8.7.1, you can download the NI ELVISmx 4.0 software without DAQmx here.

Installation Instructions

To install NI ELVISmx 4.0, download and run the self-extracting executable NIELVIS400.exe.
This will install NI ELVISmx 4.0 and all necessary driver files.

To conserve disk space you can delete your extracted files. It is recommended that you keep the extracted installation files in case you need to add features from the NI ELVISmx distribution in the future.

Install Notes

The NI ELVISmx 4.0 installer is packaged as a self-extracting archive that will automatically launch the driver installer. By default, files are extracted to C:\National Instruments Downloads\NIELVIS400\ and C:\National Instruments Downloads\NIELVIS4002\. These folders can be deleted to conserve disk space once the software is installed. It is recommended that you keep the extracted installation files in case you need to add features from the NI ELVISmx distribution in the future.
