Description

Thank you for using NI-DAQmx, version 8.8.

NI-DAQmx 8.8 is the latest measurement services software for your data acquisition and signal conditioning devices.

The following main features were added in NI-DAQmx 8.8:

  • Newly supported devices in NI-DAQmx—
    • Wireless and Ethernet Network DAQ Devices: NI ENET-9211, NI ENET-9215, NI ENET-9219, NI ENET-9234, NI ENET-9237, NI WLS-9211, NI WLS-9215, NI WLS-9219, NI WLS-9234, and NI WLS-9237.
    • C Series Devices for NI cDAQ-9172: NI 9213, NI 9237 (DSUB), NI 9426, NI 9475, and NI 9478
    • PXIe Devices: NI PXIe-4496, NI PXIe-4498, and NI PXIe-6124
    • Academic and USB Devices: NI ELVIS II and NI USB-9213

  • NI LabVIEW 8.6 support in addition to LabVIEW 8.5, LabVIEW 8.2 and LabVIEW 7.1

Installation Instructions

Perform the following steps to install NI-DAQmx:

  1. Download and run the self-extracting executable NIDAQ880f1.exe.
    This will install NI-DAQmx 8.8.0 and all necessary driver files.
  2. You can optionally download and run the self-extracting executable for the NI-DAQmx Device Documentation 8.8. (Linked Below)
    This will install the device documentation for the hardware supported in this release of NI-DAQ.

To conserve disk space you can delete your extracted files. It is recommended that you keep the extracted installation files in case you need to add features from the NI-DAQmx distribution in the future or you need to include the NI-DAQmx installer in a installer you build.

Note: If you use Measurement Studio 8.6 or later, and you need to install NI-DAQmx 8.8 Visual C++ support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, please use the installer located here.

Install Notes

The NI-DAQmx installer is packaged as a self-extracting archive that will automatically launch the driver installer. By default, files are extracted to C:\National Instruments Downloads\NI-DAQmx\8.8\ and can be deleted to conserve disk space. It is recommended that you keep the extracted installation files in case you need to add features from the NI-DAQmx distribution in the future.
