Description

NI Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) measurement nodes are designed for low-power, multi-year deployments. They have low power processors with limited memory and computing power. Due to these power optimizations, NI WSN nodes have limited performance compared to other embedded LabVIEW targets. For example, LabVIEW Wireless Sensor Network Module does not include LabVIEW debugging features, such as highlight execution and stepping through the code at run time. However, you can send and receive string-based user messages to and from the node to debug your deployed application. Also, LabVIEW WSN is limited to serial execution, so parallel LabVIEW structures do not execute concurrently. Because the node has limited resources, only trigonometric, exponential, and hyperbolic analysis functions are supported; however, you can create your own functions using the floating-point math functions included with LabVIEW WSN.

Activation Instructions

 

  1. Follow the activation instructions that appear after the installation is complete. You also can use the NI License Manager, available by selecting Start»All Programs»National Instruments»NI License Manager, to activate National Instruments products. Refer to the National Instruments License Manager Help, available by selecting Help»Contents in the NI License Manager, for more information about activating NI products.
  2. Restart the computer when the installer prompts you and log in as an administrator or as a user with administrator privileges.

Installation Instructions

Complete the following steps to install the LabVIEW Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) Module Pioneer:

  1. Log in as an administrator or as a user with administrator privileges.
  2. Run the attached self-extracting executable and follow the steps in the wizard to install the LabVIEW Wireless Sensor Network Module Pioneer.

Tip: If the installer does not automatically begin, navigate to the unzipped folder and double-click setup.exe to begin installation.
