Description

NI-FGEN version 2.4 for Windows 2000/XP.
NI-FGEN 2.4 contains all of the support included in version 2.3.1 and adds the following features:

  • Support for the NI PXI/PCI-5402 20 MHz Function Generator
  • Support for the NI PXI/PCI-5406 40 MHz Function Generator
  • Streaming
  • Direct DMA
  • Script mode
  • Frequency List mode support for the NI 5402/5406/5441
  • New trigger and event routing features: new VIs, functions, trigger types, and event types
  • Data marker events
  • Marker support added to arbitrary waveform mode
NI-FGEN 2.4 continues support for the:
  • NI PXI/PCI-5401 16 MHz Function Generator
  • NI PXI-5404 100 MHz Clock and Frequency Generator
  • NI PXI/PCI-5411 40 MSps Arbitrary Waveform Generator
  • NI PXI/PCI-5412 100 MSps, 14-bit Arbitrary Waveform Generator
  • NI PXI/PCI-5421 100 MSps, 16-bit Arbitrary Waveform Generator
  • NI PXI-5422 200 MSps Arbitrary Waveform Generator
  • NI PXI/PCI-5431 Video Signal Generator
  • NI PXI-5441 Arbitrary Waveform Generator with Onboard Signal Processing
NI-FGEN is compliant with the IviFgen Class Specification.

Minimum Application Development Environments:

You can use NI-FGEN in a variety of application development environments (ADEs). The minimum versions of your ADE that can be used with NI-FGEN are listed below.

  • NI LabVIEW 8.0Note 1, 2 in addition to LabVIEW 7.1 and LabVIEW 7.0
  • NI LabVIEW Real-Time Module 8.0 Note 1 in addition to LabVIEW Real-Time Module 7.1
  • NI LabWindows/CVI 7.0 or later
  • Measurement Studio 6.0 or later
  • Microsoft Visual C++ (MSVC) 6.0 or later
  • Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
Notes
  • 1 - NI LabVIEW 8.2 support requires NI-FGEN 2.4.1, which is on your LabVIEW 8.2 driver CD. If you need a LabVIEW 8.2 driver CD, please contact your National Instruments sales representative.
  • 2 - LabVIEW 7.1 or later is required to use the NI-FGEN Express VIs
