Description

The NI-DAQmx Base 2.2 software contains a LabVIEW Application Programming Interface (API) which allows you to create applications for your device.

NI-DAQmx Base 3.0 supports:

  • USB-92xx, USB-600x, and USB-6501 devices on Windows 2000/XP, Windows Vista x86, and Windows Vista x64 (LabVIEW and ANSI C API support)
  • NI PCMCIA E Series cards, NI CF-6004, NI USB-600x, and NI USB-6501 on Windows Mobile devices with the LabVIEW 8.5 PDA Module (LabVIEW API support)

NI-DAQmx Base is a subset of the NI-DAQmx API. If you are familiar with NI-DAQmx, you should be able to comfortably use NI-DAQmx Base.

NI-DAQmx Base is comprised of LabVIEW VIs, which allows you to customize the driver, if needed.

Install and use NI-DAQmx Base 3.0 if the following situations apply:

  • You are using a device which is only supported by NI-DAQmx Base 3.0
  • You are developing a DAQ application for a Windows Mobile device with LabVIEW 8.5 PDA Module.

Installation Instructions

Perform the following steps to install NI-DAQmx Base:

  1. Download and run the self-extracting executable NIDAQmxBase300.exe.
  2. This will install NI-DAQmx Base 3.0 and all necessary driver files.

To conserve disk space you can delete your extracted files. It is recommended that you keep the extracted installation files in case you need to add features from the NI-DAQmx Base distribution in the future.

Install Notes

The NI-DAQmx Base installer is packaged as a self-extracting archive that will automatically launch the driver installer. By default, files are extracted to C:\National Instruments Downloads\NI-DAQmx Base\3.0\ and can be deleted to conserve disk space. It is recommended that you keep the extracted installation files in case you need to add features from NI-DAQmx Base distribution in the future.
