Description

This file contains important information about the C Series Serial Software, which adds support for the NI 9870 and NI 9871, including installation information, hardware compatibility, and a guide to expected FPGA utilization. Also included is a list of bugs and issues that have been fixed for this revision.

System Requirements
Your system must have the following NI software installed when running the installation files for the C Series Serial Software. The installation will provide error messages if this software has not been previously installed on the system.

  • LabVIEW FPGA 8.5
  • NI-RIO 2.4 or higher
LabVIEW FPGA 8.5 will always require this software package to support the NI 9870 and NI 9871 modules, regardless of what version of NI-RIO is installed. Later versions of LabVIEW FPGA will obtain support for these modules from future versions of NI-RIO. Thus it will not be necessary to install this software package with future versions of LabVIEW FPGA.

Installation Instructions

To install the C Series Serial Software, run the NI-987x100.exe while logged in with administrator privileges.
