Description

Thank you for using NI-DAQmx, version 8.7.2. This minor release fixes several small issues with 8.7.1 and adds support for the newest version of LabVIEW.

NI-DAQmx 8.7.2 can be obtained by either using the National Instruments Downloader available above, or directly at http://ftp.ni.com/support/softlib/multifunction_daq/nidaqmx/8.7.2/NIDAQ872f1.exe. When the National Instruments Downloader completes downloading the distribution you will be able to launch the installer. The National Instruments Downloader will automatically remove itself from your computer after it completes.

The following main features were added in NI-DAQmx 8.7.2:

• NI LabVIEW 8.6 support in addition to LabVIEW 8.5, LabVIEW 8.2 and LabVIEW 7.1
• Visual Studio 2008 and .NET 3.5 Support in addition to Visual Studio 2005 and 2003.
• The following issues were fixed in this release:
  • Add Runtime 5 flavor back to NI-DAQmx PDF
  • On Traditional Chinese OS, Simplified Chinese characters are used for NI Device Monitor
  • PXI-4462 fails to calibrate under 8.7.1

Installation Instructions

Perform the following steps to install NI-DAQmx:

1. Download and run the self-extracting executable NIDAQ872f1.exe.
   This will install NI-DAQmx 8.7.2 and all necessary driver files.
2. You can optionally download and run the self-extracting executable for the NI-DAQmx Device Documentation 8.7.2. (Linked Below)
   This will install the device documentation for the hardware supported in this release of NI-DAQ.

To conserve disk space you can delete your extracted files. It is recommended that you keep the extracted installation files in case you need to add features from the NI-DAQmx distribution in the future.

Note: If you use Measurement Studio 8.6 or later, and you need to install NI-DAQmx 8.7.2 Visual C++ support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, please use the installer located here.

Install Notes

The NI-DAQmx installer is packaged as a self-extracting archive that will automatically launch the driver installer. By default, files are extracted to C:\National Instruments Downloads\NI-DAQmx\8.7.2\ and can be deleted to conserve disk space. It is recommended that you keep the extracted installation files in case you need to add features from the NI-DAQmx distribution in the future.
