NI-488.2 2.3 - Sun Solaris Version 2 - - Update

Description

The driver for PCI-GPIB, PXI-GPIB, PMC-GPIB, GPIB-SCSI-A, and SB-GPIB/TNT is not available for free download. You must purchase the driver from National Instruments, unless you already have the NI-488.2 version 2.0 or 2.2 installed. See the license agreement, license.txt, for details.

UPGRADE NOTES: Before you upgrade, make sure you check for one of the following scenarios:

1. If you have NI-488.2 version 2.0 installed, and you used the NI-488.2 version 2.2 upgrade, you must uninstall the version 2.2 upgrade before installing the version 2.3 upgrade. This upgrade requires a full install of version 2.0 or 2.2 without any upgrades.
2. If you have the full NI-488.2 version 2.0 installed from CD without having installed any other upgrades, you can install this upgrade.
3. If you have the full NI-488.2 version 2.2 installed from CD without having installed any other upgrades, you can install this upgrade.
4. If you have NI-488.2 version 1.0, then you need to uninstall it. Then, install NI-488.2 version 2.0, 2.2, or 2.3. If you do not have one of those versions, you must purchase a software license for NI-488.2 version 2.3 for Solaris 2.
5. If you have NI-488.2 for Sun OS or Sun Solaris 1, then you must purchase the a software license for NI-488.2 version 2.3 for Solaris 2.

This software adds a number of enhancements and bug fixes to the previous software supported for Solaris 2 (version 2.2), including:

1. Fixes a Solaris 8 problem which causes system to crash if ibsgnl event occured.
2. Fixes performance issues reported with version 2.2.
3. Adds support for the universal PCI-GPIB, PXI-GPIB, and PMC-GPIB boards.
4. Adds support for Solaris 9.
5. Fixes an installation problem with systems that only support 32-bit OS.
6. Increases the number of slots customer can select for PCI-GPIB in ibconf utility to 8. Refer to the ibconf help file.
7. Includes the electronic form of the NI-488.2 Software Reference Manual and the Getting Started Manuals on the CD.

This driver supports Sun Solaris Version 2.6 through Solaris 9.
